Sandugo Festival 2011

The Sandugo Festival is an annual celebration every july, here in the island of Bohol, Tagbilaran City. And the biggest activities is the Miss Bohol Sandugo Beauty Pageant and Sandugo Street Dancing Competition usually held on the 3rd and 4th day of sunday of july.

Aside from that the government organized some various competition which is usually held every night at the tagbilaran port. And there are also product showcase, concert, fireworks display and there more tournaments to be held.

Hundreds of people arround the philippines they come in this time to attend the biggest event in Bohol and month long celebration from july 1-31. This is also a featured event for tourists.

The Street dancing is a very colorfull, gracefully moves and creative comstumes, and participated by all school in Tagbilaran, all Local government Unit or (LGU)'s sector and other provinces.

Apart from this celebration this festival is an historical part of Bohol, Island Philippines why this celebration made. In 16th century on March 16, 1565 this is the time that Bohol leader Datu Sikatuna and a Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legaspi symbolize a Treaty Friendship through a blood compact or "sandugo".
